Come Slay with Me

What did you SLAY today?

What? Not a damn thing?

1) This isn’t true, and 2) you must be a mother! Ah, that beautiful and important, yet self-flagellating role filled by millions of women who remain laser-focused on everything they do wrong and nothing they do right.

But I’ve got news for you: you slay a LOT more than you think.

On a good day, you slay dozens of challenges before you scoop up the first pile of your dog’s doo from the yard. You slash things off your to-do list all day long— grocery trips, parent-teacher conferences, birthday parties, softball practices, doctors’ appointments. Yet you (just like every mother who ever lived), probably never stop to recognize your accomplishments or give yourself a little pat on the ol’ back.

Well, it’s time for that to change. As mothers, it’s time for the challenges we face, and the badass solutions we come up with to confront them, to come out of the dark and fill us with pride.

I recently slayed my five-year struggle to become a published author by finishing my first book titled Slay Like a Mother. Did it almost kill me? Absolutely. Some days I’m surprised I’m still standing. But did I slay the hell out of it? You bet. And I can’t wait for you to read it! The book is jam-packed with actionable tips, exercises and tricks on how to destroy what’s holding you back as a mom, so that you can live the life you want. Think of it as my blog on steroids, punctuated by the expert knowledge of other mothers from 15+ years of mom-focused research at The Mom Complex and beyond.

After reading it, you’ll be armed and ready to find calm in the face of never-ending chaos. (I’m looking at you, slime all over my basement rug.)

My book doesn’t launch until March 2019 (insert sad face), and in the meantime, my team and I are developing a Slay Like a Mother digital destination where you can learn from the victories of other mothers — everything from slaying unrealistic expectations and the mean voice in your head, to conquering a double mastectomy or the bags under your eyes.

This is where you come in.

I know a lot about slaying, but I don’t know everything. The world needs to benefit from your wins as well.  Let’s come together, as the sisterhood of motherhood, and share our slays — the obstacles, battles and demons we’ve conquered as mothers.

I’m inviting you to come slay with me! Mothers have been slaying shit for years. It’s time to share our collective battle scars, wisdom and hard-earned successes.

The ultimate goal is to make it faster and easier to access the tools, resources and motivation you need to slay what’s holding you back.  Because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that each time a woman slays an obstacle in front of her, she sharpens the sword for another woman to do the same.In addition to sharing with and learning from other mothers, you can also get paid to SLAY! From curated research studies with The Mom Complex to product reviews for the world’s biggest mom-focused brands, Slay Like a Mother will also invite you to share your knowledge to better yourself, fellow mothers and brands who seek to make motherhood better for everyone.

It sounds like a real win-win if you ask me.

There’s no doubt in my mind (or research) that as women, our challenges are better solved around a kitchen table — where we confront the obstacles, rather than each other.

So, let’s get right to it.  If this mission sounds like something you’d like to be part of, click below to sign up to be part of our SLAMbassador program.

We’ll lean on you for feedback as we build the Slay Like a Mother site, and we’ll reward you for your efforts to make our platform the best it can be. How’s that for a win-win?
